What is your 'height' of JEE preparation?
incident 1:
Class 11th final exams, My schooling was from MP board and final exam where conducted in April and CBSE 11th exam was finished by March so my coaching decided to open 12th class before my 11th exam were finished.
Now i was in dilemma, “What to do ?”
Ohh I had to miss the few coaching classes,
So I did the obvious,
I attended the 11th final exams + also the coaching.
My schedule was, wake up at 7 AM, Study a little and get ready, Give the exam from 9 to 12, Come back, have lunch & a nap then go to coaching from 3 PM to 6 PM.
Then have dinner, study a little more for 11th and sleep at 11:30.
Yes I am talking about the final exams, not Monday test, not monthly test, not pre-board, not any other test….. but the final exam.
My father warned me, “You can do this in 11th but, in 12th I will not allow this kind of behavior.”
Moral: Set your priority and work for them, other things may need to adjust.
This time I prioritized in a correct way and it worked for me, I was 2nd in the class for the first and last time in my life.
Incident 2:
My cousin’s engagement, The time for engagement overlap my coaching timing.
Again what to do, Miss the coaching or engagement ceremony.
From the “incident 1″ above, you must have got the idea about my first choice
But I prioritized again and made the tough decision to miss the coaching. She is going to engaged for the first and last time, So the decision is made and moreover I can use the day time to study and just attend the ceremony.
Then I saw my cousin to go to the beauty parlour, So I rationalized that I can attend one class and come back. I will miss the second, I made the promise to myself that I will just attend one class and come back
I went to the coaching, maybe 5 min late, attended the first class.
Again rationalized that girls take a lot of time in makeup and it is her day so she can take whatever time she want, meanwhile I will attend the second class and go back before she will come. She may never notice it,
After second class I rushed back, I reached just in time, yes just in time …………… to clean the leftovers,
Now the time for the most difficult conversation,
She: where have you been ??
I: Hmmmmmm ……
She: I saw you outside just before the engagement.
I: Yes I was at the back …….
She: No, you were not !!
I: Hmmmmmm …..
She: So you are not talking, Gooood … , Always keep it that way and never talk to me.
Moral: Relationship is the first priority in life. Yes career and study are important but relations are on the top.
Incident 3:
Just the background:
I was from a big combined family of around 40 people, Yes around 40 not the exact count because marriage and pregnancy kept changing the numbers.
We were living in a big house, with small play area, around 13 kids and 9 television sets. It was completely noisy, full of vigor and constant action till 2 AM.
It was not an ideal place for study, but I managed quit well in 11th and 12th but in drop year I went to Kota, Bansal Classes.
After the classes ends in January, My parents asked to came back to hometown for the rest of the preparation, but I told them it is difficult to concentrate in our house on studies and I may lose the concentration.
I will come back only when you move to some place else.
So I forced my parents to leave our own house and rent a place, and they did it. They loved me a lot and they were more determined for my success than I was.
